Socks 1994-2008

Socks was the sire of our Asia, and our Thai.  He was a good boy, always waggy-tailed and happy to see me when I visited him.  He is one of the reasons we are in this breed, and he will be dearly missed.  Sandy owned him and loved him and trained him.

Wonders of technology

One of the draws of the iPhone was the ability to blog using it. With either a wi-to connection or using a cell signal I can either post directly or update Twitter or add pics with the camera phone.

Family Pictures!

We took a visit to Sandy Bakewell, Allee Sablee Malinois [ http://alleesablee.com ].  We brought Asia with us and had a reunion of sorts with daddy Socks and sister Sophie.  Of course, pictures were taken of the brood.

Sophie says “huh?”

Sophie fixated on a piece of turkey in Angela’s hand.

I’m not quite sure about this…….

The Fantastic Four

We brought the balance of a litter into Malinois Rescue { http://www.malinoisrescue.org } on Friday.  They are currently staying down the road from us a friend’s kennel, Cedar Creek Kennels in Petersburg/Prince George.

Saturday morning, we spent some time with the pups.  They proved to be very active and very outgoing. Brenda, the kennel owner, had her employee, her daughter, her grand-daughter, the grand-daughter’s friend, and us over.  The pups ran from person to person, soliciting love and attention.

I went a little nuts with the pics but you can’t help but photograph the “puppettes”.

West Friendship, MD - Conformation

A few fun pics from my canine photo adventure. Lighting was really challenging so I got a lot of noise/grain in my images. But you do what you can do…..Click to pick!

Baby Thai gets another point

Thai went best of winners over the males yesterday in Bel Alton, MD for her second point!  She is slowly starting to come along.  Now, if we can just work on her puppy high butt [click to see full sized image]

More pics to share

Here’s a great picture of Brooklyn, one of the B litter puppies. She favors Socks’ coloring but she looks like a cross between Thai [her sister] and Asia [her half sister]

Here is a picture of Lucas at his first show! He didn’t win but he did well

and a “fun” shot of me. My own self portrait, upside down.

What the heck? A gift for my boy…

NIno’s birthday was a few days ago and I didn’t get him a gift. What do you get a Malinois that has everything? Not another toy, tug, treat, bed, travel van, fan, vcr + television, collar, website, water dish, in and outdoor run, etc, etc…….How about a baby Collie? Yeah….that’s a good idea.

Lucas is in our house now. He’s a Smooth Collie. And he’s six months old….

There is something nice about a Collie. They’re calm, they don’t startle easy, they’re very easy going, and they just seem to adapt. Lucas took all of 30 minutes to get the lay of the land, his crate, the back yard, and who to be wary of :-)

Being only six months old, he’s kind of goofy and definitely needs some Mals to play with. Get him into some fightin’ shape, I say! HIs expression is sweet and soft and I’m starting to dig the two collie in the Mal Mad House. Raven pays him no mind but Lucas gets along with Tammy the best. Sort of. He doesn’t have her ball drive but he likes to run, romp, rumble after her. I don’t he quite knows the name of the game but he’s willing to go along for the ride. I think if Terrorist Thai were home, they would be running around like maniacs. Asia and Paris will be introduced to him slowly.

Nino is showing him the ropes. Teaching him who’s boss. “Learning” him some manners. And Lucas is cool with it I think they’ll get along just fine. . . .

Some early pics of Lucas playing….at something. At least he looks happy doing it.

And….pictures of Bruce!

So, now I think I’m caught up with recent pictures!  Here are a few of Bruce with his “parents” at the beach.

Pictures of Brooklyn!

I’ve been a little slow with posts lately - I received these pics from Brooklyn’s momma a few weeks ago of Miss Brooklyn romping around and having herself a good ol’ Malinois time. [click to enlarge]
